I attended a trial parent-accompanied class at Hei with my 16-month-old son. Hei is a new school with beautiful facilities and kind teachers. The activities in the class included songs in English and Mandarin, activities with flash cards, and arts and crafts using frozen berries and play dough.

Kathy was an absolute professional who showcased the best of Hei while my toddler and I were there. Clean and soothing classrooms with a strong curriculum. Currently high up in my list of schools for consideration. Truly positive experience.

We’re so thankful for HEI school! Our toddler (N2) currently attends, so the review mainly covers his experience, and we are settling our younger child (PG) in as well.
Learning: Our son started at a different local school where he managed to settle (ie, no crying or resisting) but was always reluctant to attend. He also developed an aversion to learning Chinese and never shared about anything he learned at school. However, after less than a month at HEI, he’s coming home singing Chinese songs, willing to speak Chinese, and sharing about all sorts of activities from school! It is a joy to hear our son say “I love HEI school.” We want to build a love for learning that will last him a lifetime, and we’re so pleased that his first memory of school will be positive!
Attitude: we love that our son’s creative and cheerful temperament is encouraged and seen as an asset by his teachers at HEI rather than as a liability to be managed. We’re convinced that a happy child who feels secure and attached to his teachers will learn better than one who feels repressed and insecure.
Environment: one of the first things I noticed at HEI is the natural lighting (no bright fluorescent lights), calm space, and proximity to outdoors! There’s a quiet neighbourhood park nearby that the children can explore as well as lovely shaded outdoor space within school grounds. We’re convinced that children need to spend time outdoors to develop physically and emotionally, and HEI’s environment is thoughtfully chosen and well used!
Administration: HEI school management is communicate and flexible. We’ve been able to work closely with the team to ensure a good transition for our son that works well with his temperament and his daily schedule!

My son recently started at HEI School Bishan, and we are very thankful for the positive experience so far.
Before joining HEI School Bishan, we had tried a few other schools, but my son had a very difficult time adjusting. He would cry a lot, especially at night and during mealtimes when he was back at home. As parents, it was very heartbreaking and stressful to see him struggle so much.
I am truly thankful to have found a school where my son does not come home crying. Instead, he is able to sleep better at night, take better afternoon naps, and go about his day happily at home. This has given us so much comfort and reassurance.
The teachers have been very patient, caring, and understanding, especially during his adjustment period. They made him feel safe and comfortable, which helped him settle into school more smoothly. We also appreciate the warm environment and child-centered approach, where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and build confidence at their own pace.
Thank you to the teachers and team at HEI School Bishan for your dedication and care. We truly appreciate the effort you put into supporting the children and giving parents peace of mind.

We went to a couple of parent-child classes. The principal Kathy and the teachers were lovely and the facilities all freshly renovated with love and care. We would be happy to come back!

I also appreciated that they asked about photos before. Often photos in these kind of classes are taken without permission and it’s nice to not worry about that.

The most AMAZING school that I’ve been searching for for 4 years  yes, my daughter is 4+ now and she’s finally successfully joining a school for the first time.
Everything from how beautiful and new the school is that’s so lovely and tastefully done for both children and adults – bright and airy, with a lovely outdoor area that’s actually shaded for children to play, a little patch to garden.
Toys and art materials of the highest quality for little hands.
Best of all, the team. The teachers and centre lead are SO GENUINE, passionate and happy to connect with my daughter and also with me! We are in our second week of school and they have gone above and beyond in preparing activities that delights and to win her over.
In one day she’s done multiple, high quality crafts that can only come from so much dedication from the teachers.
The presence of an indoor sensory play gym is also such a bonus and it’s currently my daughter’s favourite!
If you’re on the fence about this school, please don’t hesitate further. It’s truly a dream come true for us.
